This project involved the renovation of a penthouse in a 1960s building, redesigned to be elegantly transformed with a contemporary touch.

The work focused on refurbishing two adjoining units, completely rethinking the original layout in order to create open, light-filled spaces. This allowed for a clear and functional separation between the living and sleeping areas.

The client’s main requirement was to achieve spaces that were practical, comfortable, and carefully designed around the needs of everyday life – and this penthouse perfectly reflects that ambition.

Overall, the apartment is characterised by expansive white walls, contrasted with the dark window frames and flooring, which varies from room to room. In the entrance, living room and corridors, natural oak parquet laid in a classic Italian herringbone pattern provides warmth and texture. Resin flooring was chosen for the study, kitchen, and guest bathroom, while tiles were used in the master bathroom and laundry.

In the kitchen, a three-panel sliding glass wall reduces the footprint while creating a visual connection to the living and dining areas, giving the effect of an open-plan layout.

The living room, bright and welcoming, opens onto the widest part of the terrace.

Both bathrooms – the private one and the guest WC – were designed with simplicity in mind, using clean, well-defined lines to emphasise a sense of elegance and clarity.
