Casa VGam
ARCHITECT Nicola Sacco
STYLE Modern

The apartment is located just outside central Bari, not far from the sea, and enjoys a privileged view of the coastline. The original layout did little to make the most of this setting, so the client’s main request was to open up the views towards the coast.

The project focused on reorganising and streamlining the interior, creating a clearer sense of order within the open-plan space. The different areas were defined through an intricate modulation of ceiling heights, avoiding the need for conventional walls and partitions.

The large ceiling feature above the dining table was carefully designed to give it a strong sculptural and three-dimensional character. Its shapes and movement evoke the sea, domes, and Mediterranean geometries.

Particular attention was also paid to energy efficiency, with the use of high-performance window frames, highly insulated airtight shutter boxes, and extremely precise installation. Every detail was considered, from the thermal break applied to thresholds and window sills to the use of expanding polyurethane foam sealing tapes.

The window frames feature innovative profiles with a slim, rational design. They maximise the glazed surface, enhancing both the view and the amount of natural light.
